Absolutely! I’ll always try and shift my perspective a little. Even in a location headshot, because that second or third angle could he a a completely different image and more opportunity to sell an image to the client.

Thanks for watching the video David! Great question. I set my white balance manually to 5600 kelvin. Which matched the key and fill lights and then I warmed up the background and rim light to add a little dimension. I also shot this wide open at f/1.4 on an 85 mm lens to give it that really shallow depth of field and sort of mimic the compression of a medium format camera.

I’m thinking about just doing a video on the whole process, of installing the system. but that seems like a lot of work for for the 3 people who will actually watch it 😂. I did add supports on the ceiling because I knew it wouldn’t line up with the joists. Also it makes me feel better knowing it won’t fall at any moment. Injustice got wood from the trash bin at Home Depot for a huge discount.

You can use either. The backdrop in the very back of mine is actually paper. I just taped it to a metal rod and just reverse rolled it and it’s working great. I think it’s best to tape the paper rolls just like canvas so they don’t slide around. Also you’ll need to get metal rods that are all the same length or else they won’t fit into the system

You’re right! That wasn’t a short answer haha. I kind of with you as far as being able to integrate the iPad into my actual workflow. I’ve used it successfully for workshops and smaller jobs, but I still find myself back to the laptop for most gigs. You didn’t hear it from me, but Evoto is very close to releasing an iPad app, that will have tethering capabilities (eventually) but definitely won’t have wireless initially. At least u don’t imagine it would. Have you tried the cascable app? I think that’s what it’s called

I can’t say for certain, but I believe something will be released within the next month. Not sure if it’ll be just the editing interface, or if tethering will also be included. If both happen that will be awesome!

That’s correct. It’s really meant to be used only when traveling with gear.

I’ve not used it internationally, but it probably depends on the airline. If they don’t waive the fee, it’ll probably end up being a reduced flat rate.

It will (should) waive any fees associated with overweight baggage. Dopends on the airline though.
