Ok, so maybe not every photographer, but anyone who is serious about studio photography should definitely keep reading... That being said, let me apologize for the clickbait title, but in all honesty, it's not far from the truth. Now I'm sure you're asking yourself, "what could this amazing piece of gear be that Jeff is willing to stoop as low as to try and reel me in with clickbait?" Well, it's not so much gear as it is a program for your computer called se.a.light 3D by Elixxier software.
I started using set.a.light 3D a little over 2 years ago and I'm surprised it took me this long to shoot a video about this program. The amazing thing about this program is that it allows you to create realistic 3D diagrams of lighting setups right from your computer. When I first started using set.a.light 3D I actually used it a little backwards and built my diagrams after I shot the image for a more immersive BTS experience. It wasn't until a few months of using the program that I realized how amazing it was (and always has been) as a pre-production tool. This was way back with v1. since then, Elixxier Software has released v2 which was a complete overhaul with a bunch more features.
I'll be honest, I didn't start writing this article to dive too deep into the program, so let me reel it back in and just leave you with a video that gives you a great look into what this program can do and how you can use it to better yourself as a photographer.
